D'andrea (Dee) Washburn, MS, LPC

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Liberty University. I maintain over 25 years of experience as an LPC, and have served as the founder, owner and operator of Daleville Family Counseling since 2006.

I recognize that every individual is different, and when they are struggling to navigate life they deserve a support system and approach that is uniquely tailored to their strengths. Each and every person is of value and so is the story they have to tell.

Education

I graduated from Virginia Tech in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. I then received a Master of Science in Counseling at Liberty University, and graduated in 1996. In December 1999, I received my license to practice in the state of Virginia.

Professional Experience

I served as the Director of Client Services at the Blue Ridge Pregnancy Center (formerly the Crisis Pregnancy Center of Roanoke), providing me with experience providing counsel on abortion and healing after an abortion. I also worked as the Director of Counseling at the Liberty GodParent Home and Family Life Services Adoption Agency in Lynchburg, VA. This opportunity provided me with training and experience in the areas of adoption and foster care.

I have worked in private practice for over 24 years, and have owned and operated Daleville Family Counseling since 2006. Additionally, I am a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors and the Virginia Association of Counselors.

Specialties

I have specialized training in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy from the Albert Ellis Institute. I also participate in annual continuing education in the areas of addiction & recovery, grief & loss, PTSD, depression/anxiety and couples counseling. Additionally, I have many years of experience providing counsel on abortion and healing after an abortion. I have further training and experience in the areas of pregnancy, adoption and foster care.
